“EITHER kina Jessy Mendiola or Maja Salvador sana.“ This is what Miss Angel Locsin said during her taping in Toda Max before Halloween when she was asked about on whom she wants to crown her Darna role.
Miss Angel doesn't have any idea yet of who will do the role for the new Darna series of ABS-CBN because the management did not discuss to her any plans yet, according to Angel “Laging pinag-uusapan nga raw na ako ang gaganap na Darna, eh, sana pinag-uusapan din namin,“ she said. “Nasabi lang na may gagawin, pero hindi naman binanggit pa kung sino, so mahirap magsalita kasi baka hindi naman matutuloy, nakakahiya naman.“
But, Angel Locsin was very excited when she heard the news that ABS-CBN will do the remake of Darna. “Sino ba naman ang hindi, di ba?“ saad niya. “Kaya lang, pakikinggan mo muna kung ano `yung story na gagawin, kasi baka iba naman, di ba?“
Will she be pressured if the she will do the Darna role again? “Oo, additional pressure kasi siyempre kailangan mong i-beat `yun (GMA). Siyempre gusto ko ring gawin for my network now, pero `yung Darna kasi magandang vehicle siya para sa baguhang artista o fresh na mukha" she explained.
Angel also added, “So, baka naman puwede mong ibigay sa bagong artista at maganda naman ang kalalabasan. Iniisip ko rin `yun, hindi naman puwedeng maging suwapang ka,“ she clarified.
Meanwhile, Angel herself claims that Darna gave her big break and she really loved her role as Darna especially when she was wearing the costume, “Feeling ko nga, ako talaga si Darna sa totoong buhay, sobrang pinoprotektahan ko talaga ang role na Darna, lalo na `pag suot ko ang costume, kesehodang malaglag ako sa stage in character, ha, kasi ayokong makita ako ng bata na nakaupo lang, kasi masisira `yung fantasy nila.”

But, it's unclear if Jessy Mendiola or Maja Salvador can do the role of Darna because they still have their own soap drama entitled "Paraiso and Ina Kapatid Anak?" Miss Angel replied “Eh, sabi ko naman, kung ako ang tatanungin, sila ang gusto kong pagpasahan ng bato, eh, hindi naman talaga sure ‘yun.” cleared by the young actress.
