Vice Ganda himself declined on the issue that he will be the next Comedy King of the country after Dolphy. According to him, there was only one Comedy King that everyone knows and that was Pidol.
“Hindi ako puwedeng maging Comedy King. Si Dolphy lang ’yun. There is only one Dolphy. Ayaw kong maging next Dolphy dahil mahirap ’yun. I can only be the first and last Vice Ganda,” explains the comedian of the reigning top-grossing movie in Box-Office the “Sisterakas”.
After Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) was started most of the theaters are still showing local films which is already running for more than one week now in Metro Manila, that’s why “Sisterakas” is still on top in the revenue's data for all MMFF entries.
With all the success of his movie, there’s still sadness in his face because it seems that Sisterakas would overturn the record of his previous movie “Praybeyt Benjamin” (his movie that holds the record of top-grossing film in Box-Office).
He shares his views and said, “Siyempre, baby movie ko ang Praybeyt Benjamin. Mga P347M ang kinita nito sa takilya at ngayon pa lamang pagkatapos ng mahigit isang linggong pagpapalabas ng Sisterakas ay mukhang maaabutan na nito ang kita ng Praybeyt Benjamin,” said Vice.
But the “It’s Showtime” host doesn’t want to embrace the success of his MMFF Movie, “Hindi ako mag-isa sa movie, tatlo kami nina Kris (Aquino) at AiAi (delas Alas),” he said.
Though their movie got the highest gross, Vice Ganda discloses that he is not spending much and he is only buying those important things he needs. Like clothes, shoes, and other simple items he uses in his work.
“Dadalawa lamang ang hikaw ko. Dalawa lang din ang singsing ko at may isa akong Rolex watch. Ang meron ako ay mga ilang kotse, apat,” said Vice in a humble voice but full of proud feeling because he got all of these things due to his hard work.
