After the intimate scenes of Nikki Gil and Patrick Garcia in the new series in ABS-CBN "Apoy Sa Dagat", it caused a recent fuss between Nikki and her real-life boyfriend Billy Crawford, the actress admitted during her interview in the SIR (Showbiz Inside Report) this Saturday.
The 25-year-old actress said her scenes with Patrick Garcia in the said teleserye did not sit well with Billy, her boyfriend of almost five years.
"Si Billy naman never interferes with my career. Hindi naman siya naging sobrang laking issue, until napanood niya," said Nikki.
"Hindi naman niya ako... Nabigla lang siya, hindi niya in-expect, or iba lang 'yung expectations niya dun sa actual niyang napanood. Pumeek lang nang kaunti 'yung high blood niya and then down," she said.
The said scene was aired in the pilot week of "Apoy sa Dagat," where Nikki Gil portrays Odessa, a "mariposang dagat" who falls in love with seaman Alberto del Sol (Garcia). The two are seen in a number of intimate scenes in episodes aired early this week.
Speaking to "SIR," Crawford admitted that he has yet to get used to seeing Nikki in taking on certain roles as a TV and stage actress.
"Of course, sa akin may kurot pa rin kahit anong mangyari. 'Mamaya, kakausapin ko.' For a boyfriend na 'di sanay na magkaroon ng isang aktres to be a girlfriend, kahit anong mangyari, masakit, mahirap," said Billy.
The actress, who earlier referred to her role in "Apoy sa Dagat" as her most challenging yet, said that she and Crawford have nonetheless addressed the issue.
"Sinasabi ko nga, 'What can I do to fix things?' Sabi naman niya, I understand but I don't have to like it,'" shares Nikki.
