Makisig Morales: the only choice to portray Saint Pedro Calungsod

On January 8 and 9, Makisig Morales will be again seen in a musical play entitled “Teen Saint Pedro” at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas, Pasig City. This is the second run of the said stage play. 

 Makisig will portray the role as the second Filipino who recently became saint which is “Saint Pedro Calungsod”. This is the very first time that Makisig Morales will portray as a protagonist in a stage play.The teen singer-actor had already made several play acts before but as per him this is the only one he will never forget. “Sobrang inspiring nitong story na ito kasi makikita n’yo ’yung buhay ni Pedro Calungsod. Makikita n’yo kung gaano siya ka-loyal at kung gaano siya ka sobrang bait sa lahat ng taong makakahalubilo niya. Para ito sa buong family,” explains Makisig.

He was very happy because he did not make any auditions at all, “Kasi kasama family ko sa community ng Couples For Christ. Simula bata pa ako Kids For Christ na ako hanggang ngayon na Youth For Christ na ako. Tinawagan ng CFC (Couples for Christ) si Daddy ’tapos siyempre nang tinanong kung okay lang ba na ako ang mag-portray ng role ni Pedro, hindi na kami nag-dalawang isip. Siyempre si Pedro­ Calungsod ’yan kaya tinanggap ko kaagad,” recounts the teen singer-actor.

Makisig also shared his views that there’s nothing big difference between acting in front of the camera and doing stage plays. “Parehas lang din naman ’yung pag-arte kasi umaarte ka pa rin pero sa stage kasi walang mga take two. So, kung medyo magkamali man, hindi naman alam ng mga tao ’yun eh so go lang,” said the young Morales.
