Paulo Avelino pushed himself hard to learn Bicolano dialect for his new indie film

Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino has no current teleserye project in ABS-CBN after his kilig-serye "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" with Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby that aired in Kapamilya network on the first quarter of 2013, but Paulo is busy doing indie films.

“I have two films coming out for Cinemalaya. One is called Debosyon with Mara Lopez for the New Breed category and the other one for the Director’s Showcase. It’s called Sana Dati, it’s directed by Jerrold Tarog with Lovi Poe. It’s a love story. Parehong love story,” said Paulo, with a smile.

He had experienced hardship for his first film because he needed to learn Bicolano dialect, “It’s different because it was shot in Bicol. I spoke in an old Bicolano dialect. I know the local language pero hindi siya ‘yung Bicol lang talaga, it’s kind of different. Kasi we based ‘yung mga characters namin sa buhay talaga sa Bicol and sa Peñafrancia festival sa Bicol,” said the actor.

Paulo also added that they have a must see scene with Mara on the said movie project.  “There’s one scene that stands out pero I can’t really tell eh. Basta it’s something shocking, something never done in Cinemalaya before. Expect it to be something different. It’s not your typical love story. It’s something really magical between two characters and their love for each each other,” he added.

The shooting stage of the said two films are already finished and they are already in a post-production stage as to now.
